Stanley had a wonderful time in North Manchester. He was here in the winter months, so outdoor snow activities, snug family room story time, barnyard chores and following the high school girl's basketball team on the bus were part of his stay here.
Flat Stanley is a 2-dimensional boy looking for adventure. The original Flat Stanley is a character in a book written back in 1964 by Jeff Brown. Wikipedia offers this report: "Stanley Lampchop and his younger brother Arthur are given a big bulletin board by their Dad. Dad hangs it on the wall over Stanley's bed, but during the night the board falls from the wall, flattening Stanley in his sleep. He survives and makes the best of his altered state, and soon he is entering locked rooms by sliding under the door, and playing with his younger brother by being used as a kite......One special advantage is that flat Stanley can now visit friends by being mailed in an envelope."
